Jan Byyny’s primary focus is selecting, training and competing
international level Event horses. She has represented the United
States numerous times both at home and abroad, and is currently
focused on being selected for the teams heading for the 2008
Beijing Olympics and the 2010 World Championships in Lexington,
Kentucky.
Jan also operates a successful training, lesson and sales
business specializing in locating event horses for clients and
offering instruction at all levels.
Surefire Farm, Purcellville, Va., is home to Jan and the
Surefire Event Team. The farm lies on 50 acres with an adjacent
300 acres in conservation with the Virginia Outdoors Foundation,
and is right in the heart of Virginia horse country. Surefire
facilities include numerous board paddocks, an outdoor sand
arena, Beginner Novice through Intermediate cross-country
courses, and easy access to gallop tracks and Area II and III
events. Each winter, the Surefire Team spends several months in
Aiken, South Carolina.
